Job Description:
Hanover Research is actively seeking a self-motivated and competent individual for a full-time Desktop Support Specialist position. The Desktop Support Tier II individual will assist the existing Desktop team in providing technical support to Hanover Research in the areas of end-user equipment, system configuration, troubleshooting, access/provisioning, resource monitoring, cloud-based systems, and many other related tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The candidate will possess knowledge of troubleshooting internal technical infrastructure, including but not limited to, Microsoft environment (Microsoft Windows Family, Office 365), networking, printing, wireless and audio & visual technologies, Exchange and Active Directory account creation/modification, Cloud-based VoIP phone systems, Salesforce, and various other cloud-based systems.
  • The candidate will assist the Team Lead in testing software and hardware deployments, in addition to providing support during periodically scheduled network and server maintenance.  
  • He/She will record appropriate resolution information in troubleshooting PC hardware and software problems and will demonstrate appropriate, on-going communication of issue status and customer follow through.
  • The candidate will ensure the timely resolution/referral of user problems by documenting the impact to the user and by assigning an appropriate priority and resolution goal.
  • They will deploy new software/hardware and procedures that are thoroughly tested and fully operational. He/She will assist in training peers and users on software, hardware and IT procedures.
Requirements:
  • 2-5 Years of experience;
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively.  Must be a highly-motivated, self-starter.
Minimum Education Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred in IT, IS, CS or related technical discipline)
  • MCSE/MCITP preferred, but not required.
