The Role
Hanover’s Grants Consultants work alongside Content Directors and Researchers and provide grant writing services to a variety of non-profit partners in Hanover’s higher education, K-12 education, and healthcare practice areas. The Grants Consultant will be responsible for proposals and applications from inception to delivery, often under tight deadlines. This is an ideal role for those with a passion for getting to know organizations inside and out and then helping those organizations gain access to information that makes them more effective in carrying out their missions and more competitive in securing external funding. This position will report directly to both the Managing Grants Consultant and the practice area specific Managing Content Director.

Our services include institutional research, funding strategy reports, foundation grants prospecting research, feasibility assessments, pre-proposal and proposal writing, and review capabilities.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with clients to create strong grant proposals from inception to delivery;
  • Provide highly professional consultative service to clients throughout the grant writing process;
  • Manage remote proposal development teams to ensure all proposals are submitted in a timely manner;
  • Independently create client-ready deliverables with minimal guidance or oversight;
  • Manage tight deadlines to create proposals and deliverables requiring few edits quickly.

  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight;
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience writing and researching for a business or professional audience;
  • Ability to accept feedback and constructive critique positively;
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills;
  • Strong command of the English language and demonstrated writing and editing skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Extremely strong and demonstrable work ethic;
  • Proven academic achievement;
  • High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
 Education Requirement
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Political Science, English, Sociology, or a related discipline, though candidates with relevant experience who hold other degrees will be considered. Master’s degree preferred.
 
Experience Requirement
3-5 years’ experience as a grant writer, reviewer, and/or editor with hands-on proposal management and/or grant writing experience.
