We are seeking a Proposal Specialist/Writer to join our Content and Business Development teams and manage the proposal writing process from start to finish. You will be responsible for gathering the necessary materials, liaise with team members, write the content, facilitate the editing process, and submitting the responses. As we respond to more and more RFPs, you’ll create the knowledge management and systems such that we can respond with speed and quality, ultimately increasing our ability to help school districts around the country accomplish their objectives.
A big focus will be on our K-12 vertical. Hanover guides K-12 leaders in tackling academic and administration challenges in a rapidly-changing environment to ensure that students, parents, and staff have the tools they need for all students to succeed. Hanover built its K-12 Solutions based practice on more than 10 years of experience supporting over 700 school districts, regional education agencies, state departments of education, independent schools, and non-profit organizations solving critical instructional and administrative challenges. Our comprehensive solutions use a multi-methodological approach including data analytics, survey research, benchmarking, best practice identification, in-depth interviews, and focus groups to help K-12 leaders in every department manage their toughest challenges.

  • Be responsible for writing proposals and for crafting the key content pieces of the proposal (including methodology, timeline, etc.), and coordinating the drafting of revenue-focused proposal content with the Business team.
  • Actively manage multiple proposals at any given time, while also seeking new opportunities, discussing questions with contacts at the RFP-granting agencies, and pulling together necessary materials for submission.
  • Analyze incoming RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs to determine products and resources required, level of effort, necessary team involvement, and any company requirements
  • Collaborate with teams cross-functionally to create accurate and persuasive responses that win proposals; partner with Account Management and Content teams to craft compelling responses
  • Coordinate with other team members to support with editing content and completing compliance forms
  • Actively monitor open proposals from K12 districts, ESAs, RSAs, and Departments of Education in order to identify best-fit opportunities for Hanover.
  • Create a scalable process and knowledge management system such that Hanover can respond to RFPs with increasing speed, including developing, updating and storing documentation and collateral
  • Support Business Development teams with content development for sales collateral
What we are looking for / requirements:
  • 2-3+ years of experience writing technical proposals for both fixed-fee and time and materials proposals
  • Experience within the K-12 Education space
  • Strong writing ability and love for writing, particularly technical writing
  • Ability to write persuasively about technical and business products and services
  • Excellent collaboration and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate key information quickly and effectively at the “headline” and detailed level
  • Detail oriented; comfortable following complex instructions and managing other people to deadlines; great proofreading and copyediting skills
  • Ability to thrive under in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines (extra hours at times)
  • Ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously
  • A passion for making an impact in Education Industry
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate level degree a nice to have.
Nice to have, but not a requirement:
  • Prefer successful prior experience with writing and securing proposals for K-12
  • Experience with RFP management software (e.g. Loopio or equivalent)
